What Does the following Semen Analysis Result Mean?

hi. my sperm analysis report shows following results: liquefaction: 30 min appearance: creamy white volume: 2.5 ml pH: 8.0 motility::: rapid progression : 25% slow progression: 15% non-progressive motility: 20% immotile: 40% agglutination: nil vitality: nil count / ml : 120 million morphology::: normal: 90% abnormal: 10% pus cells: 6-8 epithelial cells: nil RBCs: nil misc: nil

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
The following conclusions can be drawn from the semen analysis report you have posted:
1. Liquification time, appearance, volume and pH are normal.
2. Sperm count is normal.
3. Sperm motility with 25% rapid progression seems to be less as compared to normal.
4. Sperm morphology of 90% normal is good.
5. Presence of 6-8 pus cells indicates mild infection.
Hence, the report indicates fertility index to be little less due to the problem in sperm motility.
For this, you can take a course of antibiotics like Levofloxacin to clear the infection. Also take medications containing L-carnitine, alpha-lipoic acid, CoQ10, Vitamin E, Selenium and Zinc for a month and see for the improvement by getting tested again.
